What is TrekinU?

Does TrekinU require special software?
TrekinU uses the Adobe Flash plug-in which comes pre-installed on most computers. For fast image uploading, we strongly recommend the installation of the TrekinU Image Uploader. Internet Explorer users should install TrekinU’s ActiveX control, and Firefox users should install TrekinU’s Java control. For those that prefer not to install the Image Uploader, TrekinU provides a Flash application that can be used to upload files and images.

How do I create a trek?
Creating a trek is straightforward and completely intuitive. You will be guided through the process by the TrekinU wizard. To begin the process of creating a trek, click the link labeled Upload Trek that appears on the top of all of the TrekinU pages. Additional information about how to create an online trek can be found in the TrekinU user manual, which can be downloaded at http://www.trekinu.com/user_manual.pdf. A brief introductory video can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/user/TrekinU.

Is there a limit to the number of treks or images per user?
Currently, there is no limitation on the number of treks or images per user. However, TrekinU reserves the right to change this policy in the future.

How do I share my treks with my friends and family?
The simplest way to share treks is by using the Share button, located just below the Trek Player on the right hand side of the page. In the “Share with Friend” popup box, you may enter the email address of anyone with whom you wish to share a trek. There is also an option to add a personal message. You may use TrekinU’s default subject header, or edit it with any subject of your choice. TrekinU does not store or make use of any email addresses that you enter. Another way to share treks is to enter the URL into your own email application. The URL can be copied from address field of your browser, or from the text box containing the URL at the end of the trek presentation.

How do I embed my trek into my own web site or blog?
The code from the Embed Code text box that appears at the end of every trek presentation can be copied and embedded into your site’s HTML code.

Which photo formats does TrekinU support?
TrekinU supports JPEG, BMP and GIF files.

Which music formats does TrekinU support?
Currently, TrekinU only supports MP3 files. Support for additional file formats will be added in the future.
